As a rule, you are entitled to leave for study purposes according to the Employee’s Right to Educational Leave Act. One condition is that the studies undertaken follow a syllabus or similar plan. There is normally no remuneration during this type of leave. The application for leave is to be submitted as early as possible. The employer may postpone the leave for up to six months.
If a particular programme of study is significant for the activity of the employer, the employer should facilitate the undertaking of such studies. The employer may permit you to keep all or part of your salary for the entire period of leave or for a part of it.
The right to leave also applies with reference to the following laws:
The ordinance on leave from employment contains rules and complementary regulations.
