Leave can be granted for many different purposes. Some types of leave are regulated by legislation or ordinances, e.g. the ordinance on leave of absence (1984:111). Other types of leave, such as leave for moving house or funerals, are regulated in the General Agreement on Pay and Benefits for Government Employees (ALFA).
Other types of leave than the ones referred to above can also be granted, if there are valid reasons and it is not detrimental to the University’s activities, In reviewing cases of partial leave, the University shall pay particular attention to domestic circumstances.
If you are granted leave for any other purpose than paid annual leave, deductions will in general be made from your salary. The size of the deduction depends on the reason for leave.
