Objectives


The quality of the education offered at Lund University shall be improved by:

  • developing students’ ability to work in accordance with scientific evidence and proven experience, or supporting students’ artistic development.
  • education grounded in a solid research environment.
  • education building on a research-based teaching perspective that promotes in-depth learning, lifelong learning and critical thinking.
  • education centered around students’ learning and encouraging students to be actively involved.
  • the faculties ensuring that students achieve the intended learning outcomes.
  • the students’ degree projects and research studies being linked to strong research environments.
  • the students analysing scholarly texts in their learning and for examinations.
  • promoting a scholarly approach by teaching staff to students’ learning and their own development as teachers.
  • encouraging education research and development work in order to enable critical review.
  • innovation and cross-boundary activities as part of long-term development.
  • developing students’ ability to participate in international contexts and international teaching staff exchanges.
  • students being able to identify needs for change in their future professions and initiate improvement work.
