Teaching and Learning through English

The course ‘Teaching and Learning through English’ (TLTE) has been developed to provide support for teachers teaching through English. The course is given by the Centre for Educational Development (CED) in collaboration with the Centre for Languages and Literature. The workload on the course is equivalent to one week of full-time work.

The course aims to provide teachers with opportunities to develop in their teaching roles by reflecting on the pedagogical challenge which making learning possible also through another language constitutes. Critical situations on linguistic as well as pedagogical levels may occur when the English of teachers and students varies from being a first language to a fourth one.

The course focuses on the conditions for learning in these types of situations and sets out from the course members’ own pedagogical experiences.
